09/ 2018 New release: Softcore Express – Synthango

Eternal Sunday presents an amazing album: Synthango, by Softcore Express, an album that compiles instrumental versions  of 11 of the best known tango pieces in the Universe produced with a synthpop/ synthwave sound, made with vintage analog synthesizers.

Electronic tango or electrotango became popular as a genre around the year 2000, but was mostly a combination of tango classic sounds, especially the bandoneon/ tango accordion, with loops and electronic percussion (not always produced in good taste). This is not what Synthango is: there’s no bandoneon/ tango accordion or any other acoustic instrument in this album, everything was replaced with pulsating lines of analog synthesizers that create a surprising sound collage that was never done before, very catchy and overflowing with naïve freshness.

Synthango is both an homage to tango from Buenos Aires and to the synthpop sound of the pioneer producers that developed electronic music based on synthesizers during the 70s and 80s. The sound and arrangements evoke legendary producers and artists like Kraftwerk, Giorgio Moroder, Cerrone and synthpop pioneers like Yazoo, SoftCell o Depeche Mode, giving as a result a tango album that’s unique, revolutionary and apt for a global public and market.

11/ 2012 OUT TODAY: Softcore Express - Electro Tango: La Cumparsita (Single) // Beatport exclusive

Softcore Express are Eternal Sunday records’ official tribute makers: after releasing an electro tribute to grunge rockers Nirvana they decided it was time to pay homage to their home town, Buenos Aires by making electro versions of the two most known tango pieces in the world (since tango is the music from Buenos Aires). They are “La Cumparsita” and “El Choclo” (loosely versioned in the 50s as “Kiss Of Fire” for the American and European market).

As usual Softcore Express music has a furious electro beat with a hyper catchy quality. Unlike most blends between tango and electronic music, Softcore Express doesn’t add the bandoneon or tango accordeon, the typical instrument that gives tango its unique flavour. “We decided there was no point in recording bandoneons (tango accordeons). Why should we? When we tribute country music we don’t use banjos or steel guitars, and we covered Nirvana without using guitars, why should make an exception with tango?”, says Michael Etes, one of the producers behind the project.

There are many versions of these tangos around. These are probably the catchiest. Have fun.

09/ 2010 Tango Santo included in the Wina CD (Poland)

Polish magazine Wina included a track by Tango Santo in their tango and folklore CD.

Wina is a prestigious magazine dedicated to wine and liquors. The August 2010 issue was dedicated to argentinian wines, specially from the Province of mendoza, and was released with a tango and folklore compilation audio CD. Track 8 is the version of "Recuerdo" (original by maestro Osvaldo Pugliese) performed by Tango Santo, taken from their album Puro Bailongo, released by Eternal Sunday.

La revista polaca Wina incluyó a Tango Santo en su CD de tango y folklore.

La revista Wina es una prestigiosa publicación polaca acerca de vinos y licores. El número de agosto 2010 estuvo dedicado a los vinos argentinos, especialmente de la provincia de Mendoza, y fue acompañada por un CD recopilatorio de tango y folklore argentinos. El track 8 es la versión de "Recuerdo" (del maestro Pugliese) interpretado por Tango Santo, del álbum Puro Bailongo lanzado por Eternal Sunday.

Tango Santo presents the music video for "Dubango".

 "Dubango" is the first music video taken from the album Puro Bailongo (Tango Electro Tribal) by Tango Santo. It was directed by Luis Sosa Arroyo and shows tango dancers Omar Mamani and Andrea Hammerschmidt performing a dance rutine on top of a tiny chair.

"Dubango" was written by Carlos Boccardo and publishd by Eternal Sunday/ Universal Music Publishing.

Debut album for the band that came to change the sound of tango forever: Tango Santo

Eternal Sunday introduces the debut album of the band that came to change the sound of tango forever: Tango Santo.

In the last few years different variations of traditional tango were born and revitalized the whole scene. The creation of electrotango, the combination of traditional tango with elements of electronic music was the spark that initiated the tango craze, not only in Buenos Aires, its natal city, but around the world. Producers and bands that came from every music tradition tried new ways of making tango, but only a few artists came up with really interesting and original fusions.

The one archived by Tango Santo is, undoubtedly, one of the happiest combinations. Tango Santo mixes traditional tango sounds with an electronic flavour and African percussion and rhythms. These rhythmic were present in the musical cocktail from which tango emerged in the last decades of the XIX century, but were eventually discarded, though they remained present in Uruguayan candombe and the murgas (in fact traditional tango is one of the few danceable styles that has absolutely no percussion elements).

This idea, of course, it's not new. But the members of Tango Santo are not improvised: the percussionists are members of an African percussion workshop where they study the rhythms, build the drums and instruments (these are not instruments you get in any shop) and perform the music. These years of experience and original research positions Tango Santo way ahead of any other band that could have tried this fusion.

Puro Bailongo (Tango Electro Tribal), the first album of this revolutionary band, has eight instrumental tracks, one of them a cover version of a tango written by maestro Osvaldo Pugliese and the other seven written by the leader of the band, the multifacetic Carlos Boccardo. Carlos is not only a great violinist and composer, he's also a tango lover and has studied its origins extensively, and he combines this role as a musician with many other cool activities: he's a professional graphic designer and an actor, acting in theatre and movies (he got a leading role in "Los Ángeles, La Película", an important Argentinean production planned to be released in 2008), among other things. Of course, Carlos dances the tango every week at the local milongas (places to dance tango) so he took care that every track by Tango Santo can be easily danced.

Eternal Sunday presents this exceptional album that undoubtedly will make History, inside of Argentina as well as in the rest of the world. We keep this way our compromise of taking the best music from our country and sharing it with the rest of the world.

February 2008: Worldwide release of Celeste Carballo’s new single

Eternal Sunday proudly releases Preludio Para El Año 3001 (Single).

After a few years without releases Argentinean megastar Celeste Carballo is back with the lovely single Preludio Para el Año 3001.

Extracted from her soon to be released live album Celos, Eternal Sunday proudly presents four remixes of this beautiul song called "Preludio Para El Año 3001", written by Astor Piazzola, the man that changed tango. These versions were made by producers/ remixers José Tramontini AKA KooLTURE and Sgoliat, who demonstrate their talent and create this beautiful rendition that can be used to relax at home or to dance at the disco.

The single will be available on February 15th, 2008.

Eternal Sunday lanza Preludio Para El Año 3001 (Single).

Después de varios años sin lanzamientos la megaestrella argentina Celeste Carballo vuelve al ruedo en excelente forma lanzando Preludio Para el Año 3001.

Extraído de su álbum en vivo Celos, Eternal Sunday presenta estos remixes del hermoso tema de Piazzola/ Ferrer "Preluedio Para El Año 3001" (Astor Piazzola fue el hombre que revolucionó el tango en los '60/ 70). Los remixes fueron hechos por los remixers/ productores santafesinos Sgoliat y José Tramontini alias KooLTURE, quienes demuestran su talento y crean de esta hermosa canción una obra maestra del tango electrónico, apto tanto para el relax como para la discoteca.

El single estará a la venta mundialmente a partir del 15 de Febrero de 2008.

Angelini Music is the project of Mauro Angelini, a multifacetic multi instrumentalist, producer and singer from Argentina. One is his first album, where he creates an oniric instrumental cocktail where diverse influences are mixed together: electronic music, chill out/ lounge music, Asian melodies, tango, Argentinean folklore, rock and roll, film music, funk, Western philosofies and a long et cetera.
