All of the tracks are cover versions of hit songs, and all of them feature the careful sound production that Geman Kreff has been developing all these years. The vocals were provided by singers LIBA and Arabescos.

08/ 2016 New release: Softcore Express feat. Pauline Q – Venus

Eternal Sunday presents a new single by Softcore Express, the label’s exclusive tributes and covers makers. In this occasion they present two songs made famous in the 80’s by the girls group Bananarama, “Venus” (which itself is a cover of the 60’s, the original version was done by the Dutch band Shocking Blue) and “Love In The First Degree”.
 
Both songs were classic examples of the sound of legendary pop producers Stock Aitken & Waterman, whose bands and artists dominated the teen pop/ dance music scene in the UK in the mid-80s (Kylie Minogue, Dead Or Alive, Rick Astley, Bananarama, Mel & Kim, Samantha Fox among many others).

“Stock Aitken & Waterman were criticized, both by rockers and by ‘serious’ electronic musicians, because they made pop hits for teens”, says Emiliano Canal,  the label director. “But it is very difficult to come up for pop hits for teens. People not always realize this, and SAW did it worderfully for a decade or so”.

The vocals were provided by the very young and very talented Pauline Q, a 17-years old singer from Buenos Aires, Argentina, who also works as a voiceover artist for Disney and other companies. This single is her phonographic debut and, judging for the results, she’s got quite a bright future in her hands.

03/ 2015 New release: Softcore Express feat. Polette - An Electro Tribute To ABBA

Eternal Sunday presents another electro tribute by Softcore Express, this time featuring the amazing Polette on vocals.

Maybe some people are too young to remember, but during the late 80’s ABBA was a very uncool band, a cheesy thing from the 70’s. No one was doing ABBA covers, except for some synthpop/ electropop bands like Information Society, Men Without Hats and, later, Erasure. Strangely, for synthpop fans too young to remember the originals, these were the first glimpses of ABBA’s master songwriting. Much later, the whole A*Teens/ Mamma Mia craze started and ABBA became fashionable again for the masses. This is not only an ABBA tribute, it’s a tribute to all these pioneer synthpop and electropop artists that covered ABBA when no one was doing that.

As usual, Softcore Express’ sound combines a classic and a modern electropop sounds and, this time, it is the wonderful singer Polette AKA Paula Varela (an amazing vocalist and sessionist who sung countless jingles and shared stages with Shakira and Deep Purple among many others) the one who sings, making this electro tribute a perfect ABBA listening experience.

07/ 2010 Nuevo lanzamiento: The Kavanaghs - This Is Where We Come From

The Kavanaghs hicieron lo que muchas bandas hacen en algún momento de sus carreras. Mientras graban su segundo álbum (el continuador de su aclamado The Kavanaghs) empezaron a tocar viejas canciones clásicas que les gustaban y una cosa llevó a la otra y en un par de semanas tenían grabado un álbum de covers que contiene ocho de sus himnos favoritos.

Estas ocho canciones clásicas fueron grabadas de una manera clásica. Se usaron sólo unos pocos tracks y la banda hizo básicamente dos tomas: una de la instrumentación y otra de las voces. Querían lograr ese sonido original y lo lograron. Esto no significa que se trate de una banda que no tenga interés en la tecnología o que evite experimentar. Estaban homenajeando a sus héroes, ya están experimentando lo suficiente con nuevos sonidos en la grabación de su segundo álbum.

Las canciones que escogieron nos dice mucho acerca de ellos. Siendo una banda de Rosario, Argentina, del año 2010, a la que la gente asocia a la invasión británica de los '60, eligieron una lista de clásicos norteamericanos de los '50 y '60 que prueban su extenso conocimiento de la música pop y lo distintivo e inusual de sus influencias, para una banda de su tiempo y lugar de origen. Estas canciones fueron grabadas originalmente por the Beach Boys, Elvis Presley, Simon and Garfunkel, The Monkees, Neil Sedaka, y otros grandes nombres.

El sticker (virtual) colocado en la portada (virtual) del LP dice, en inglés: "The Kavanaghs nos invitan a descubrir sus raíces a través de una gran selección de sus artistas favoritos de todos los tiempos. Estas son canciones para escuchar en una tarde lluviosa y sentirse bien. ¡Disfrútenlas!". Por supuesto, no hace falta esperar a una tarde lluviosa para disfrutar de este álbum: lo vas a escuchar una y otra vez, todas las veces que estos clásicos merecen ser escuchados, mientras dure la espera por el segundo álbum de temas originales de The Kavanaghs.
