ExZentrica presenta 30 Años, un álbum que recopila lo mejor de la carrera del cantautor argentino Valerio Rinaldi, a través de sus primeras bandas (Trilogy, Extra) y luego como solista. El álbum contiene 18 tracks
que sintetizan el estilo que Valerio desarrolló a lo largo de estos
años: canciones con formato pop radial, prolijos arreglos de guitarra,
estribillos pegadizos que explotan y letras pop con actitud rockera.
El álbum incluye un par de perlitas antiguas, las ochentosas “Shout” y “No Puedo Parar De Hablar”, ambas rescatadas de cintas del desván y remasterizadas, y presenta dos temas inéditos, “Ave Fénix” y “Bienvenida Navidad”. Entre unas y otras hay 30 años de carrera

Baby Scream is a project lead by Juan Pablo Mazzola from Buenos Aires, Argentina. His music was released in several countries like Germany, England, USA. and Argentina. Baby Scream’s last release, Greatest Failures, is a compilation of the band’s best tracks plus one new song, “Aching Eyes”. Baby Scream’s music can be described as melancholic pop, the sound resembles some 70s classic Power Pop artists and bands like Big Star, Badfinger, The Raspberries and John Lennon, and some 90s acts like Fountains Of Wayne, Gigolo Aunts or The Jayhawks.
The albums were always well received by the media and critics of the
power pop scene like Shindig! (UK), Absolute Power Pop (USA) or
Powerpopaholic (USA).
Muddy Stardust (Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Col. Parker, LA Guns) produced two albums, Identity Theft and Baby Scream, in which Eric Dover (Jellyfish, Slash’s Snakepit) collaborated in the song “The Ghosts Of Valerie”.
Baby Scream performed in Europe, where the most memorable gig was in
Norway at the Bödi Glimt stadium but also performed in London (in places
like The Borderline, invited by Jayhawks’ Mark Olson) and in Berlin.
He was the first Argentinean artist who played at the International Pop Overthrow in USA.
Currently Baby Scream is based in Buenos Aires and the rest of the
band members are Diego Serra (drums), Leandro Emanuele (bass) y
Maximiliano Sueldo (guitar)
"Somehow Love Conquers Pain is The Kavanaghs' first album", says bass player, singer and composer Tiago Galíndez in the video documentary that comes with the CD version of the album, the bands' second one containing original material (besides the releases Christmas Again (Single) and the covers EP This Is Where We Come From). "In our first album [The Kavanaghs, 2009, ES 2215] we wanted to sound and to look retro. We wanted to be like our heroes, like the bands that influenced us. There's a change in this new album". Their debut album deliberately sounded (almost) like it was recorded in the 60's. Guitars without effects, Beatle basslines, lo fi drums, acoustic pianos, clean voices in the middle of the stereo image. In Love Conquers Pain the band seems to want to tell us that they grew tired of being compared to their idols and took to the studio all the gear they didn't use for the first album: guitar pedals, digital effects, subtle synthesizer lines, elaborated vocal arrangements and post-disco music drum patterns. Luckily, the musical and songwriting talent they shown on the first album were kept.
Love Conquers Painopens with the single "Tonight", a fast and powerful song with a little bit of The Strokes' guitars. It is followed by "Come On (Before The Wind)", written by the drummer Seba Cairo, the slower "It's Real" and "Emma Peel", the first direct reference to the 60s, the swinging London and classic pop culture (Emma Peel was the fictitious name of the girl from The Avenger classic TV series). Then there's a ballad, "Something's About To Happen", the powerful "That's All You Need To Know", that should be a hit single, "Those Days", again written and sung by drummer Seba Cairo, "About Tomorrow", reflexive and almost melancholic, sung by Tiago. Track 9 is another composition by Seba Cairo, "I Need A Pity Day"; track 10, an almost 70's funky song, crossed by guitar lines so processed that they resemble synth lines, "Last Dance", that gives way to another ballad, "Away From All We Know", that keeps growing till it reaches a Hey Jude-like final chorus full of voices. The last two tracks are the hyper catchy and radial "Love Scripts", pure powerpop with 60's tambourines, and the quiet "Waiting For The Times To Change".
This last song, relaxed and careless in which the main character seems to adopt a passive philosophy, is a strange way to finish an album that The Kavanaghs have made a conscious effort for it to be unforgettable. The CD version of the album comes as a 7'' deluxe digipak (the size of a vinyl single disc) that comes with a high quality booklet with pictures taken by Elio Truant and Ruben Abud in which the band walks around a wheat field outside of Rosario, their home town. The same effort and dedication was given to the music video for "Tonight" in which the members of the band play cards for a lot of money until a girl gets between them and causes a car chase at a famous Rosario tunnel. We like to bet high, The Kavanaghs seem to say in a subtle way, the same way we bet high by making this second album, improving the sound, the voices, the mastering, the pictures, the packaging and everything that depends on us. We are a today band, not one from the 60s, and we want to reach today people with a modern and accessible sound.
We come from Rosario, Argentina, but we want to conquer the world. If there's any justice in the land of pop music, sooner or later The Kavanaghs will. In the meantime, let's have some fun listening to Love Conquers Pain.

ES 2229 Baby Scream – Secret Place + ES 2229 DS01 Baby Scream – Hit And Run (Single)
Of all the bands from Argentina with songs in English it is surely Baby Scream, the project lead by Juan Pablo Mazzola, the one with the richest history of releases, travels, tours and collaborations, specially overseas. Baby Scream has 7 albums and EP's released, most of them in countries other than theirs, in places like Germany, the UK and USA, and the band has been touring other unusual territories like Norway.
The story behind Secret Place, Baby Scream's eighth album and the first to be released by Eternal Sunday, begins when the government office Opción Música, that belongs to the City Government of Buenos Aires, announced that local indie labels could present proposals for recording an album at Estudio Urbano, a cultural center dedicated to rock music and youth culture. The winners could use 80 hours of recording. Eternal Sunday proposed recording a new Baby Scream album (the band was releasing its homonymous album by OK! Records in the UK) and the project was accepted, so the band has to enter the studio to make a new album in two weeks.
The result was Secret Place, a concise and direct album with overflowing honesty and artistic maturity that combines, like in a journey, the history of the band and the moment the album was made. The journey is not a long one: Secret Place contains 10 tracks that last less than three minutes each, but they are enough for allowing the leader and composer Juan Pablo Mazzola to spread his particular obsessions and themes: it starts with the wild rock piece "The Last Call" and goes straight to the youthful lennonesque, ballad "Hit And Run" (that could easily fit in any of John Lennon's early 70's albums), then takes us to the almost country/ acoustic rock of "Secret place" and "Going North", the first one radiating joy, the second returning to the more dark mood. They are followed by "Cold Weather Reggae", a particular incursion in Jamaican rhythms with a progressive solo included, "Bad Seed", acoustic again and about bad childhood memories, the sweet "Patiently", the direct "London Sun", about the city that is the world capital of pop music, a city that evokes in Juan Pablo Mazzola both bright and dark memories; next is "The Atmosphere", inspiring a relaxing and somehow trapping sensation, sweetened by violin arrangements, and the journey closes with the dazzling and oniric "Eating My Face", about a real dream that the composer had while recording the album (he was served his own head to eat at a restaurant).
Secret Place is a typical Baby Scream album: it shares a vision equally desolated and hopeful of a world that combines innocence, evil, stupidity, youth culture, classic rock and roll, the escapism and the ravages of drugs, the different cities and places you visit when you're on the road, love, treason, rage, fear of the unknown, all of this expressed with an almost immaculate point of view that could belong to a child that observes the world without any kind of prejudice. It is maybe because of this that the album cover and the pictures inside the CD booklet, (taken by Marcia Hill) depict a somehow childish universe: the sweet grandma that offers us a tea in a suburban afternoon, the furry cuddle toys in the park, the toy windmill forgotten in the garden after playtime…
There is a secret place, seems to say Baby Scream, in which we are still children and we see things as they are: as an eternal dream passing in front of our eyes, always changing, always surprising, sometimes depressing, sometimes thrilling, in which we don't actually know our place or our role, but we still try to enjoy ourselves as much as we can.
Faithful to the classic rock tradition followed by Baby Scream, Eternal Sunday announces the release of the single "Hit And Run" backed with "20th Century Baby". "20th Century Baby" is a song written by the legendary Marc Bolan (the leader of T-Rex) that was only released as a demo after the composer's death. Baby Scream recorded its version during the Secret Place recording sessions.

Canal Pop feat. Lara Sambert - An Electro Tribute To Oasis
A new episode of the Eternal Sunday podcast has been uploaded: this one is about A Perfect Way, Just Us' debut album, released in 2010 by Eternal Sunday. It contains a preview of the songs "A Perfect Way", "Blue Like Blues", "Friendly Stuff", "Strange Kind Of Woman", "Why Not?", and "3 On 4". Narrated by Emiliano Canal.
The Argentinean label Eternal Sunday keeps releasing debut albums of one-of-a-kind artists: this time it's the turn us the incredible swing/ soft rock/ retro pop band with original songs with lyrics in English Just Us. Formed in 2006, this 4-pieces band from Buenos Aires, Argentina dedicated the first years of its existence to play live in every kind of events (business related, weddings, casinos, etc.), developing in the process an amazing live show and giving the musicians a solid formation rarely seen in starting bands.
The band is lead by the charismatic singer and aspiring crooner Jorge Vazquez, who already has recorded for Eternal Sunday the cover of New Order's "True Faith" for the album Southern Waves, the Argentinean tribute to classic electropop (the song was later released as a single). Jorge sings since high school, where he was the de facto lead character in musical theatres classes, and had his fifteen minutes of TV fame when he participated in the reality show Escalera A La Fama, where he reached the finals. His ductility as a singer, his beautiful voice, his complete command of the English language and the fact that he's got a great number of female fans (he's a handsome guy) almost assure him his future stardom. But Just Us has three more members, the talented guitar player Arturo García, who wrote the original songs (with Jorge's lyrics) and wrote the arrangements, the ductile bass player Hernan Rodriguez, and drummer Matias Teran, who follows the arrangement with his subtle jazz drumming.
The band is a quartet of voice, guitar, drums and bass, and that's what sounds in the album: in an era of digital magic where everything can be corrected using a plug-in, Just Us has recorded an stripped down album, in which everything that sounds is 100% real and 100% capable of being reproduced onstage. There are no overdubs, session players, special effects or synthesizers. Only four good musicians using their instruments to play twelve songs (thirteen in the digital version that contains a version of the inmortal ballad "My Way" as a digital bonus), ten of them originals and two covers, "Strange Kind Of Woman" (original by Deep Purple, from the 70s) and The Beatles' classic "The Word".
A Perfect Way is a different debut album by a different band, with a huge potential for success, with fans of every age (they are followed by jazz lovers as well as for screaming teens with a thing for handsome singers). As it happens with every Eternal Sunday release they have a great potential for being exported commercially outside of the Latin market, markets that most labels from Argentina don't really consider viable.

Eternal Sunday presents Uncovered, the first album by KooLTURE, the project of producer, singer and songwriter José Tramontini. KooLTURE has made a name for himself in the international electropop underground scene, as a result of releasing high quality digital singles and EP's, catchy and dance oriented. KooLTURE has fans all over the world (his MySpace profile has more that 25,000 friends) and these fans demanded to hear KooLTURE's first long play album. The wait is over.
Uncovered is just as it was expected: a brilliant piece, a collection of the finest catchy electropop (most lyrics in English, a couple in Spanish) perfect for dancing, having fun, think about and get touched by the lyrics. A pop kaleidoscope with retro and disco touches, a subtle gay aesthetic, intelligent lyrics, radio choruses, hidden remixes, a luxury packaging and lots of tiger skin.
The songs are instant hits that take us, among others, to the inhibited freshness of "Stupid SuperStar", the reflection about fans and fame of "Fanatic Boy", to the problems and the ecstasy of love of "A Look At Me", "Absolutely True" and "Like A Cat" which give way to the almost metaphysical considerations of the two songs in Spanish, "Irónico" and "Vuelo Fugaz".
