The powerpop band from Rosario, Argentina The Kavanaghs toured the USA in August 2010. The Kavanaghs are part of the first generation of local artists that compose and perform original songs in English, which helps them reach major markets that are difficult for bands that perform in Spanish. The band was invited to perform at the International Pop Overthrow, that takes place in different cities of Europe and North America. The most important bands of the powerpop scene perform at the IPO. The only artist from Argentina that performed besides The Kavanaghs was Juan Pablo Mazzola's project Baby Scream.The Kavanaghs performed at Los Angeles (August 07) and Portland (August 12). They also played at Las Vegas (Hard Rock Café), New York and Washington DC. Latin bands normally perform in Spanish and therefore depend on the Latin community to sell tickets, but since The Kavanaghs perform in English language was not an issue.
The band was received with good critics and was invited to new editions of the festival and to other venues. The Kavanaghs had already toured the UK in 2009. The band's first album was released in 2009 by Eternal Sunday, the label from Argentina specialized in released local pop music with vocals in English.
