Eternal Sunday presents anothe tribute album by Softcore Express, Electrostones. The album features 11 tracks made famous (in the 60s) by the legendary rockers The Rolling Stones, this time produced as synthpop/ electropop/ synthwave tracks. A variety of classic analog synthesizers and drum machines were used to give the album a classic, retro feel. A must for any electro fan.

09/ 2017 New release: Canal Pop feat. Arabescos – How Can You Expect To Be Taken Seriously?

Eternal Sunday presents Canal Pop‘s new single, a cover of the Pet Shop Boys classic “How Can You Expect To Be Taken Seriously?”. The track was featured in 2016 in the compilation Prism, a tribute to Pet Shop Boys released by the German music portal Electrozombies (containing songs performed by some of the best artists in the electropop/ synthpop/ synthwave international underground scene like Parralox, Junksista, Machinista, Technique, etc.).

How Can You Expect To Be Taken Seriously? is Canal Pop’s first collaboration with singer Arabescos. The single features the single version that appeared in the compilation and a killer remix by German Kreff.

08/ 2017 New release: Plastic Orgasm People – Falling

Eternal Sunday presents Falling, a single by Plastic Orgasm People, (Emiliano Canal’s first band with singer Alejandro Marino, before starting Canal Pop).  The song was originally recorded in 1996 along with other two songs, “The Collective Song” and “Let It Rain”, but for some reason these two made it into the band’s debut EP, The Meaning (Of Love) while “Falling” was not included. Falling” is a perfect example of Emiliano Canal’s distinctive style of pop composition and shows Alejandro Marino’s singing talent at full. The guitar was played by the late Lapo Gessaghi, a very well known (and loved) 90’s session player and studio owner.

The song is highly unusual because there were almost no recording of Argentinean bands singing in English at the time, thus making Plastic Orgasm People (AKA POP) truly pioneers.

Thoough it was not released commercially, the song was featured in some Internet portals like the old Mp3.com and ranked high at the site charts.

06/ 2017 New release: Softcore Express – Neon Lights

Eternal Sunday presents a new single by Softcore Express, the label exclusive tribute and covers makers. This time it is an amazing rendition of the Kraftwerk song “Neon Lights”, originally released by the German electronic music pioneer group in 1978 as part of their Man Machine album (and covered many times by electropop artists like Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark, who covered the song in their 1991 album Sugar Tax). The single features two versions of the title track.

04/ 2017 New release: Canal Pop feat. Polette – Moonlight Shadow (2017 Version)

Eternal Sunday releases a new version of the 1983 Mike Oldfield hit “Moonlight Shadow” by Canal Pop feat. Polette. The song has already been released in 2012 as the b-side of the single “Electricity”, but the artist was not happy with that version.

“The version released in 2012 was not finished, we were working on it and a hard disk crashed so I had to use the only mix I had”, says Emiliano Canal, AKA Canal Pop. “Luckily enough, we were able to recover the original files and make a new version, the way I originally wanted it so sound”.

As usual, the song features the whole Canal Pop production package: carefully produced amazing female vocals and a synth-lead infectious rhythm that makes people want to dance.

08/ 2016 New release: Softcore Express feat. Pauline Q – Venus

Eternal Sunday presents a new single by Softcore Express, the label’s exclusive tributes and covers makers. In this occasion they present two songs made famous in the 80’s by the girls group Bananarama, “Venus” (which itself is a cover of the 60’s, the original version was done by the Dutch band Shocking Blue) and “Love In The First Degree”.
 
Both songs were classic examples of the sound of legendary pop producers Stock Aitken & Waterman, whose bands and artists dominated the teen pop/ dance music scene in the UK in the mid-80s (Kylie Minogue, Dead Or Alive, Rick Astley, Bananarama, Mel & Kim, Samantha Fox among many others).

“Stock Aitken & Waterman were criticized, both by rockers and by ‘serious’ electronic musicians, because they made pop hits for teens”, says Emiliano Canal,  the label director. “But it is very difficult to come up for pop hits for teens. People not always realize this, and SAW did it worderfully for a decade or so”.

The vocals were provided by the very young and very talented Pauline Q, a 17-years old singer from Buenos Aires, Argentina, who also works as a voiceover artist for Disney and other companies. This single is her phonographic debut and, judging for the results, she’s got quite a bright future in her hands.

Eternal Sunday presents Come To My World, the first single taken from the upcoming Canal Pop album, featuring singer, actress and model Josefina Aufranc. The album will be an homage to the early electro disco music that started with Donna Summer’s “I Feel Love”, produced by Giorgio Moroder in 1977.

The single contains the title track and a killer remix by Fr3ak. Both of them are instantly recognizable as Canal Pop songs, respecting the formula of releasing very catchy electropop songs with carefully produced vocal arrangements. Josefina Aufranc provides crystal- clear powerful vocals.

“I want Canal Pop to sound like a mix of Daft Punk and Abba”, said Emiliano Canal, the man behind Canal Pop. “I want a modern sound, but I also love the early electro sound, the old Hi-NRG and Italo disco sound. 03/ 2015 New release: Softcore Express feat. Polette - An Electro Tribute To ABBA

Eternal Sunday presents another electro tribute by Softcore Express, this time featuring the amazing Polette on vocals.

Maybe some people are too young to remember, but during the late 80’s ABBA was a very uncool band, a cheesy thing from the 70’s. No one was doing ABBA covers, except for some synthpop/ electropop bands like Information Society, Men Without Hats and, later, Erasure. Strangely, for synthpop fans too young to remember the originals, these were the first glimpses of ABBA’s master songwriting. Much later, the whole A*Teens/ Mamma Mia craze started and ABBA became fashionable again for the masses. This is not only an ABBA tribute, it’s a tribute to all these pioneer synthpop and electropop artists that covered ABBA when no one was doing that.

As usual, Softcore Express’ sound combines a classic and a modern electropop sounds and, this time, it is the wonderful singer Polette AKA Paula Varela (an amazing vocalist and sessionist who sung countless jingles and shared stages with Shakira and Deep Purple among many others) the one who sings, making this electro tribute a perfect ABBA listening experience.

10/ 2014 New release: NiñodeFuego – No One’s Dancing

No One’s Dancing is the third single by NiñodeFuego, and the first one sung in English. The song combines a classic electropop bassline with a catchy funky chours.

NiñodeFuego is a new music project of Argentinean producer, singer, songwriter and sessionist Chino Ribalta, who’s also the director or the Make It Music label and production company. Chino Ribalta has more than 10 solo releases and has collaborated in many other projects, including playing drums for the rock band Can Can in the 80’s and early 90’s.

“I Want You (To Be My Baby)” is the new song by Canal Pop feat. Polette, the first one after the release of the 2012 EP High Class Girls & Lo Fi Boys. Unlike past material it was produced by Osi Tejerina (gold-record producer from Argentina) and it features the classic Canal Pop radio friendly electropop sound combined with more edgy electronic bits and effects. As usual, the track is very catchy and radio friendly, the vocals are carefully arranged and the lyrics are clever.


The single features a B-side, “Your Daughter’s On The Phone”.
